This little book lays out a series of self-care tasks and tips to help you through each day when times seem hard.

Book Description: This book is for travelling executives, tourists and students as well as those who have either direct or indirect contact with people in other countries in their capacity as hosts or marketeers. In our own country we know the language, codes of behaviour and social customs, but in international relations we are faced with unfamiliar situations. It is a mistake to think that our good home-bred manners will be universally understood and simply speaking the foreign language of a country combined with abundant goodwill will not guarantee a successful relationship.
Ordinary actions such as speaking on the telephone, making an appointment, greeting people, making gestures, or standing apart or close when in conversation can be misinterpreted and behaviour we regard as normal may be inappropriate in another country, having not only a negative effect but causing offence. What may seem to us a typical gesture, such as nodding our head in affirmation or shaking our head to indicate a negative response, may convey a different meaning in some countries and an offer of gifts to communicate pleasure can be perceived by the recipient to be linked with sorrow. Our actions and their reactions may lead to embarrassment to either or both parties. The author has travelled the globe for business and pleasure and has written extensively in British and international Trade publications.

Book Description: Confronting an unpredictable business climate and ever-changing marketplace presents a monumental challenge for businesses to maintain their competitive edge. The rate of technology change further impacts the timely development and modification of business strategy. Methods based on historical data to predict the future have been rendered insufficient for establishing the company’s strategy, especially for start-up, small and medium sized business, not-for-profit and public sector organizations which may have limited access to hands-on business experience.
One of One, Becoming the Company of Choice, introduces the most powerful way to differentiate your company by using its structured approach for establishing the best way to improve your success. Employing a series of implementation modules, you tailor-make a strong business foundation using proven concepts based on what is already working, aligning the organization’s strengths to achieve a value driven competitive and agile advantage. Additionally, you will discover hidden insights on how to best offer differentiated solutions to assure your customers achieve their goals. Benefits achieved by implementing the techniques presented in One of One are; - realization of your core business purpose, areas of business focus and its vision for success (Future Perfect); - awareness of your value discipline and how to best offer value-driven solutions to achieve your customer’s expectations; - appreciation of your company’s strengths and improved assessment of the competitors’ offerings; - understanding of how to optimize the delivery value chain; - transitioning the organization towards a differentiation mindset; - implementation of action plans to achieve strategic goals; - applying the Business Success Rating Scale to assess your market differentiation and to maintain the organization’s continuous improvement culture. So begin the Differentiation Journey by aligning your organization using the systematic approach to achieve One of One, thus avoiding being seen as “one of many”.

Book Description: What sets our Servicemen and women apart? They choose to place themselves in danger so that we may live in peace. If they die in the line of duty they, and their families, deserve our deepest respect. Instead, the pilots of Chinook ZD576 were unjustly accused of gross negligence, by those with most to lose if the truth was revealed. The aircraft was not airworthy, however this was concealed from the crew and passengers. After a 17 year campaign, when this evidence was presented to the Mull of Kintyre Review the findings were set aside. This book is an inside view of the campaign, and of MoD itself. It discusses the events which brought the RAF into disrepute and reveals the evidence withheld from official inquiries.

Book Description: Snakes and Ladders, Stephen Verney's sixth book is a personal account of how we are challenged by the coincidence of opposites throughout our lives. The main focus of the book rests on the author's vivid account of daily life during World War Two – first as a Red Cross worker with the Quakers, in Norway, Finland, Libya and Syria; and then as a Resistance fighter in German occupied Crete. It was an incident in Aleppo that led Verney to the agonising decision to leave the Quakers and join the Army. This agony persisted throughout his time in Crete, where, disguised as a Cretan cattle dealer, he carried in his pocket a ready cocked pistol cushioned by his small bible. The clash of opposites reverberates throughout Verney's war – delicious food, famine, squalor, beauty, hatred and compassion. The vividness of this book and its charming details spring out of the letters that he wrote to his parents – letters which were carefully archived in Claydon House, his family home in Buckinghamshire, and later also recorded by The Imperial War Museum. Verney writes with an effortless humour, a humility that is never pious and an acceptance that does not judge. War is a part of life and manifests itself through human love and goodness, as well as through evil.
